Treatment of Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating) Underarms with BOTOX
(BOTOX® for Hyperhidrosis London)
BOTOX® is an FDA approved approach to treat focal hyperhidrosis of the underarms. Patients who experience axillary hyperhidrosis that interferes with their daily activities are often good candidates for the treatment. Many patients who decide to proceed with BOTOX® treatments have attempted non-invasive treatment options with prescription strength antiperspirants and have had no relief of symptoms. Excessive sweating is caused by overactive sympathetic nerves to the sweat glands that can be inhibited with botulinum toxin Type A to stop the sweating completely.
Hyperhidrosis Treatment London
Rupesh will then inject the BOTOX® subdermally via a very small needle throughout the axillary area. A series of injections are given to ensure coverage of the entire area. Common side effects include redness and bruising from the actual needle punctures that usually subside within one to two days. The BOTOX® takes effect approximately five to seven days after treatment and lasts between 4-6 months.

Hyperhidrosis Treatment with BOTOX for sweaty Palms
Hands sweating is often noticed by the child at the age of 5 when learning to write. The hand and the fingers are damp or wet, making difficult to grip the pen and leaving wet marks on the paper. It becomes a social burden when shaking hands and can interfere with manual skills. The stigma of damp hands, clammy hands is psychologically devastating.
The patient and Rupesh sit on each side of the examining bed, used as a table. Each hand is “numbed” by applying Emla or LMX Cream. When the patient feels that his hands are numb, the injections can start.
An injection of 50 units Botox is injected into each palm, divided into 15 sites.
The treatment session last 30 minutes but the injections it selves take only 10 minutes to perform on each side.
All the injections are performed by Rupesh, who has a long experience in the treatment.
There is no bleeding and the patient can go back to work after the treatment. The patient is asked to be gentle when using his hands during that day ( no gardening, no heavy cleaning duty, no heavy manual works
Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating) Botox Treatment
According to the International Hyperhidrosis Society, underarm Botox injections can reduce underarm sweating by 82–87%. The effects can typically last 4–12 months, or up to 14 months in some cases.
People who receive underarm Botox injections tend to see results 2–4 days after treatment. The full effects are usually noticeable within 2 weeks.
However, Botox is not a permanent solution for excessive underarm sweating. A single treatment lasts around 4–12 months, so a person needs ongoing injections. Botox in armpits can be life changing for a lot of people.
Botox works by blocking the nerves responsible for activating your sweat glands. Normally, your nervous system activates your sweat glands when your body temperature rises. This is how your body automatically cools itself. In people with hyperhidrosis, however, the nerves that signal the sweat glands are overactive.
When you receive Botox for sweating injections directly into the area of your body that commonly sweats, your overactive nerves are essentially paralyzed. When your nerves can’t signal your sweat glands, you don’t sweat. However, Botox only prevents sweating in the specific area where it’s injected.
Rupesh will inject the Botox just below the surface of the skin using a fine needle. You’ll receive several injections that form a grid pattern around your area of concern. Rupesh may give you something to prevent pain, like ice or a numbing agent.
You can return to work and normal life as soon as you’re done with your Hyperhidrosis Botox injections.
