Dark spots or hyperpigmentation are due to the overproduction of melanin in the skin by melanocytes.This extra melanin can be triggered by a lot of different things. Hormones – eg preganancy, Sun can increase the level of melanin, and age can increase the size of the melanocytes (why we see dark age spots in older patients).
Other factors, like skin irritation as a result of acne, waxing, and harsh scrubs, can also cause dark spots.

Treatment Options for Hyperpigmentation:

Retinoids & Lightening creams.
Rupesh consider prescription-strength hydroquinone, alone or combined with other topicals like retinoids, to be the gold standard for fading dark spots because it slows the production of pigment. Unlike many of the ingredients in OTC products, it almost always works at eliminating hyperpigmentation. However, hydroquinone treatment should be closely monitored because in high concentrations hydroquinone can cause sun sensitivity and may bleach the skin.

Chemical peel (The Perfect Peel)
